What is Calne Area Transport (CAT)?
CAT was set up by a group of local residents to address many transport concerns arising from
Calne's regeneration initiatives in 1998. The group was formally constitued in 2001 and pursues
three aims:
- To improve the quality of live for all who live, work and visit the Calne area
- To support the local economy by improving access to work, training, goods and services
- To promote sustainable transport solutions
CAT is the transport arm of the
Calne Community Area Partnership.
Achivements
- CAT's support was crucial to bringing Wigglybus to Calne and its surrounding villages and to ensuring that flexible transport had a sustainable future.
- CAT produces regular newsletters holds annual meetings, stalls and events.
- CAT has managed several initiaives under the umbrella of Go-between Project
